BDI wins RIBA award
The Big Data Institute (BDI) building won a prestigious award from RIBA last night at the RIBA South regional gala dinner in Surrey.
RIBA awards are internationally recognised as a mark of excellence for architecture. The BDI, which was delivered on behalf of the University of Oxford, was chosen for its spatial generosity, multi layered workspace and ground breaking sustainable heating and cooling system.
The award is also testament to the tireless efforts of the project team, led by CPC, who project managed the scheme, and collaborated with the design team and contractors to ensure the success of the BDI building.
Jon Odell, CPC Partner said “The committed approach between all the project delivery disciplines and the University, has enabled the BDI to provide a model template for academic medical research buildings for the future and showcases innovative design for this region of the UK”
The BDI building joins all the other RIBA regional award winners to be considered for the RIBA National Awards, which will be announced in June.
