What makes CPC stand out from the crowd?
CPC is extremely proud and excited to be named as one of the four finalists for the APM’s Project Management Consultancy of the Year award. We are in good company, as the other finalists are Arup, Gate One and Pcubed, last year’s winners.
Our shortlisting for this prestigious award is testament to our people who continue to provide exemplar services, with a personal touch, to an ever growing client base across the length and breadth of the UK.
How have we got there?
Over the past 3-5 years CPC has embarked on its most progressive period of growth since 1990, when it all started. We have opened new offices across the UK, diversified into new sectors, secured a number of new blue chip clients, and ventured overseas to deliver projects in Toronto, Singapore, Istanbul, the Middle East and a number of cities in Northern Europe.
We have also acquired two project management businesses, one specialising in retail and one in housing, which continue to exceed expectations. In 2014, we launched CPC Systems, an engineering and technical service business, focused on improving the reliability and performance of railway systems.
Throughout this growth and expansion we ensured that people remained at the heart of everything we do with an unwavering focus on attracting the very best people who align with our culture and embrace our core values.
In short – we seek to ensure that our people are in awe of their peers.
For junior people embarking on their careers in project management, CPC provides a perfect vehicle for them to fulfil their true potential by exposing them to a range of clients in both the public and private sectors. CPC prides itself on enabling and empowering its people to take the initiative and hone their skills in a controlled, yet liberating environment. For more experienced individuals, CPC provides opportunities to take on full accountability for high profile complex property and infrastructure projects.
Managing an ever changing landscape
In a World of change and market consolidation we are becoming increasingly unique due to our size and independence. We now have over 180 people and can boast a fine selection of blue chip clients. That said we still remain agile and responsive to an ever-changing landscape both politically and economically.
I, along with Jon Odell – Partner within our Property and Construction division, and Charlotte Hughes – SPM with CPC Systems, presented our business to the APM on 5 September.
If we were to win the award, it would be one of the biggest highlights in our 28-year history and would go a long way to CPC realising its vision of being recognised as the best project and programme management consultancy in the UK.
The results will be announced at the APM Awards Dinner on 26 November at Old Billingsgate, London – Fingers Crossed!
