The Christie NHS

Capital PMO

The Christie is one of the largest cancer centre in Europe treating more than 40,000 patients every year and is known for its pioneering research and breakthroughs in cancer care over the last 100 years.  The Trust is investing over £200m in its Capital Programme to provide additional and improved facilities at its principal and satellite sites across the UK.

CPC have been responsible for the effective delivery of major capital developments at the Trust leading the project planning, development, design, governance, procurement and delivery of these projects. Many of the schemes involve engagement with partner organisations such as the University of Manchester and Maggie’s Centre and all involve in depth  liaison with Clinicians, end users and the Trust’s Board.

Under our leadership and coaching, the capital planning team have delivered nine major schemes including a state of the art chemotherapy treatment centre; a new proton accelerator; new Brachytherapy and Radionuclide units, and joint research facilities.

We managed external contractors and consultants through the Department of Health’s ProCure21+ procurement route and NEC3 form of contract to ensure that the quality and efficiency of each project was maintained across the programme.
