Planning approved for Life Sciences Facility

Planning permission was granted on 25 February, by London Borough of Camden, for an exciting new commercial office and life sciences development scheme in the heart of the Knowledge Quarter in London.

CPC are providing Project Management and Employer’s Agent services on behalf of Precis Advisory to deliver the scheme and transform this former self-storage facility, currently known as Belgrove House, into a Discovery Research Centre and UK Headquarters for MSD UK, part of the pharmaceutical giant, Merck.

This ambitious development, incorporates designs based on a whole life carbon approach, including key features such as an innovative biophilic façade, a natural cooling ventilation system, urban greening and the use of natural and recycled materials.

A new, step-free, entrance to King’s Cross St. Pancras tube station is also incorporated within the footprint of Belgrove House with capacity for 350 cycle parking spaces.

Mark Cleverly, CPC Partner said “We are thrilled that planning permission has been achieved on this incredible development. Project managing the delivery phase of Belgrove House within such a tight urban environment will be a challenge, but a complexity that we are used to within our project delivery team. We are driven to improve the lives of our local communities. Belgrove House enables us to do just that”.
