Reuben College revamp completes

CPC attended the grand opening for the University of Oxford’s 39th graduate college, Reuben College, on 15 June 2024.  The event was attended by a variety of distinguished guests from across the University, Oxford’s local community, and the University’s wider stakeholder network.

As project manager, CPC has led the unique refurbishment and remodelling of Reuben College’s Grade I and II heritage assets, which span over 150 years.

The previous University Vice-Chancellor, Dame Louise Richardson, who was instrumental in the establishment of the College was in attendance at the opening; so too were brothers Simon and David Reuben.  Their generous endowment of £80m has established both the college and ongoing scholarships to students from lower income backgrounds.  Further funding of £10m+ towards the refurbishment of the college building has helped to make the overall project a resounding success.

Guests were treated to a special address by the Chancellor of the University, Lord Patten of Barnes, who focused on the University’s values and its commitment to the highest standard of education.

Jon Odell, CPC Partner, said “It was great to see all the hard work from the project team come to fruition on this impressive building, which will support the learning and development of students for years to come.  We’re delighted to learn that this project has been shortlisted for two awards categories for the UK Property Forums’ OxPropFest Awards 2024 in September for Project of the Year and Low Carbon Project of the Year”
