New Affordable Homes for Camden

Planning permission has been granted by London Borough of Camden for an exciting new affordable housing scheme alongside London’s new creative hub.

Situated within Bloomsbury’s Conservation Area, the scheme, known as Acorn House, will redevelop the existing 1960s office block and former headquarters of the National Union of Journalists, into a vibrant community space.

CPC are providing Project Management and Employer’s Agent services for Precis Advisory, part of the Precis Group, to deliver the scheme. When complete the development will provide 33 affordable housing apartments, dedicated playspace, cycle parking, a community room, retail opportunities and flexible, affordable office space for local businesses.

Mark Cleverly, CPC Partner said: “We’re delighted that planning permission has been granted to transform this former office workplace. It means that our programme, as part of the project team to mobilise the delivery phase, moves a step closer. With a climate change resilient approach to its design, we look forward to continuing to support Precis Advisory and the development’s ambitious environmental credentials.”
