More teaching space for Leeds College of Building

The latest facility at the Leeds College of Building’s South Bank Campus officially opened yesterday, providing over 5,000m2 of new teaching space. The building comprises of four-storeys with bespoke classrooms and technical workshop areas that will forms part of the newly named ‘South Bank Campus’, servicing the majority of the College’s 6,500 students.

CPC provided both project management and employer’s agent services for the construction of this building, which incorporated ‘BIM Level 2’, a collaborative 3D building design environment and BREEAM ‘excellent’ status for environmental sustainability with its utilisation of Air Source Heat Pumps and Photovoltaics.

The facility, which has included an £11.9m investment form Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Growth Deal, will provide a range of advanced and higher apprenticeships in engineering services bringing together heating and ventilation and refrigeration and air conditioning to a single campus.

We ensured that the Colleges requirements were clearly understood and executed throughout the design and construction phases to provide a modern and high quality teaching environment for the next generation of building industry professionals.”
