The CPC Story
Celebrating 34 Years – 1990 – 2024
CPC’s origins began in 1990 to provide project management consultancy services for large-scale real estate and commercial office projects in London and the South-East.
Throughout the 1990s, CPC expanded its services regionally across the UK with new offices in the North of England and Scotland, as well as going beyond the construction market to extend its service offering to transport asset improvement projects, transport infrastructure projects and capital projects in the health & education sectors.
In the early 2000s, CPC launched a new management consultancy service to complement its project management offering, supporting the transport industry and local authorities to improve their performance and secure public sector investment.
CPC cemented its position as a key provider of project services in the UK in the 2010s, with the acquisition of a number of consultancies to enhance its client services and completed a management buy-out to transfer to a limited liability partnership, known as CPC Project Services. CPC further launched its services in both the social and private residential markets.
In 2014, CPC launched its first subsidiary, CPC Systems, bringing together rail systems engineering and project management consultancy services to support rail systems infrastructure upgrades.
Adding Cost Management and Commercial services to CPC’s portfolio of services in 2017 has enabled CPC to support its clients throughout the project lifecycle from a technical advisory, delivery and financial options and risk perspective.
CPC has increased its industry recognition over the last five years and most recently were winners of two industry awards:
- Association for Project Management’s (APM) SME of the Year 2023 and
- Building Magazine’s Construction Consultancy of the Year (over 100 staff) 2023.
CPC’s Future Journey – 2023 – 2033
As part of CPC’s 10-year growth strategy, CPC transitioned to an employee-owned business in 2024 to become CPC Project Services Ltd. The transfer of CPC’s business structure to an Employee Owned Trust (EOT) means that CPC is owned by each and every one of its employees, enabling them to share in the future success of the business, as well as having a greater say in how it is run. This move by CPC’s shareholders has provided CPC’s clients with ongoing continuity of services and longevity of CPC’s business and brand in the marketplace.
With over 300 professional and committed consultants, CPC is proud to be one of the largest project and cost management consultancies in the UK. CPC has plans to grow to £50m turnover in the next 5 years (to 2028).
