Big enough to deliver, small enough to care

At CPC Project Services, we’re an award-winning, independent Project Management and Cost Consultancy with over 36 years’ experience delivering high-quality projects across infrastructure, property and transformational change.

Since becoming employee-owned in 2024, we’ve placed our people at the heart of everything we do. Our culture is built on ownership, pride and genuine motivation, creating an environment where you can grow, be recognised for your contributions and help shape the future of the company, all while enjoying long-term stability.

With a clear vision to reach £100m turnover by 2033, our Transport & Infrastructure team in Birmingham is growing and this is a brilliant time to get on board.

Our Birmingham team has recently moved into Cathedral Place, a Grade II listed Edwardian building overlooking St Philip’s Cathedral in the Colmore Business District. It’s a fantastic base with plenty of character, right in the city centre and within easy reach of Snow Hill and New Street stations.

The Opportunity:

We’re looking for Project Managers and Senior Project Managers to join our Birmingham team, working closely with major local authority clients to deliver exciting highway and infrastructure schemes across the region, taking schemes from design through to construction.

This is work you can see. The projects you lead will shape how people travel around Birmingham and the region every day, and you’ll be right at the centre of it, working with elected members, stakeholders, local communities and contractors to get great schemes delivered.

We’re recruiting at two levels, so whether you’re an established PM ready to lead your own projects or an experienced Senior PM looking to steer larger, more complex programmes, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading highway and infrastructure projects through the design and construction stages
  • Managing commercial aspects and risk, with a focus on delivering projects and programmes to time and budget
  • Leading multi-disciplinary project teams in the development and delivery of highway schemes
  • Ensuring projects comply with local authority governance and procurement processes
  • Preparing and presenting Full Business Case reports to elected members and stakeholders
  • Applying DMRB and other highway and infrastructure design standards to designs
  • Running public consultations and presenting to the public, stakeholders and elected members
  • Managing contractors and the commercial detail of projects delivered under NEC forms of contract

Which Level Is Right for You?

  • Project Manager: You’ll lead small to medium sized schemes yourself or take ownership of a key element of a larger project.
  • Senior Project Manager: You’ll lead large, complex local authority projects or programmes, bringing strong contract management and cost control experience.

About You:

  • Experience delivering highways, transport or infrastructure projects, ideally for or within a local authority
  • A good understanding of local authority governance, procurement and business case processes
  • Experience working under NEC contracts (accreditation is a bonus but not essential)
  • Familiarity with DMRB and wider highway design standards
  • A confident communicator who’s comfortable presenting to elected members, stakeholders and the public
  • Strong planning, cost and programme management skills

Benefits:

At CPC Project Services, we offer more than just a competitive salary. We provide a benefits package that supports you both at work and beyond. Some highlights include:

  • Private healthcare for you and your family (including dental and optical)
  • Private pension scheme
  • Hybrid and flexible working
  • Travel insurance (including winter sports) for you, your partner and dependants
  • Support with professional memberships and ongoing training

We also believe great work deserves recognition. That’s why we offer a bonus and annual salary reviews, ensuring your contribution is recognised as we achieve our goals together.

Diversity & Inclusion:

CPC is an equal opportunities employer and a Disability Confident employer. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to providing an inclusive environment for professional growth and development.

Polite Notice to Recruitment Agencies:

We are not seeking external recruitment support at this time. Speculative CVs will not be considered.
