Students visit Stratford Market Depot during Rail Week

CPC Systems hosted a tour of Stratford Market Depot, London Underground’s main depot of Jubilee Line trains on 11 October, for students in the local area.

The tour was organized as part of Rail Week, an annual event led by Young Rail Professionals to bring schools, teachers, career advisors and students closer to the rail industry and the diverse and rewarding career opportunities available across this sector.

Starting with a brief history of how the rail industry has changed and evolved over the last 150+ years, CPC Systems were able to demonstrate how the latest technologies and innovations in rail are automating much of the network today. The tour continued with a demonstration of depot operations including the equipment testing areas, train maintenance regimes and the site control centre.

Twenty-nine events took place between 8-14 October across the length and breadth of the UK, providing students with a unique insight into rail operations and access to those who have already built their careers in the industry.
