PMO - Business Improvement
Following an ORR review in November 2016, the Rail Safety & Standards Board (RSSB) committed to fundamental changes to its organisation. CPC was commissioned to develop and implement business improvement initiatives including establishing a single Projects Directorate and PMO across RSSB.
Our role was to merge four project delivery teams into a single Projects Directorate and improve the processes to which industry safety issues and concerns are escalated to the RSSB Executive and the RSSB Board. We set up the RSSB Investment Committee, facilitating development of a lean organisational structure, carrying out lean reviews and mentoring change leaders. Developing assurance procedures and improved processes, we fostered a culture of evaluation, learning and development and knowledge transfer.

Our involvement enabled the client to benefit from greater delivery certainty and improved quality assurance. Opportunities for staff were created through internal career development and we provided better management information and financial efficiencies for sustainable change.
