Change Management

As part of the Primary Care Support Services Transformation Programme, CPC was appointed as the business analyst lead for a change project workstream related to the detained estate for Prisons and Immigration Removal Centres.  The purpose of the change project was to improve back office processes.

Our consultants developed detailed process maps for Primary Care Support Services provided to patients within detention including, patient registration and deregistration, patient file transfers, cervical screening appointments and test results notifications and prescription pad supplies.

Output provided to the client included comprehensive Value Stream Maps (VSM) process maps and the Business Design Document (BDD) itemising the impact of inclusion of the detained estate on the wider transformation programme. The analysis also created a dynamic model to allow for scenario planning based on the variation of several independent variables such as population change (within the detained estate), changes in levels of patient registration (it is optional), take up of screening, the number of practitioner requests for hard copy files and the rate of re-registrations that occur on release.
