Rowner Renewal Partnership

Mixed-use regeneration development, Gosport

In 2007, the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), Hampshire County Council, Gosport Borough Council, First Wessex (a Housing Association) and Taylor Wimpey UK Ltd launched the Rowner Renewal Partnership.

Its vision is to deliver a modern, sustainable community on the 38-acre Rowner estate in Gosport – one of the most deprived areas in England.

CPC Role

CPC has been responsible for the project management of this development since 2008, overseeing planning, surveys, design, procurement, and construction.

The project has involved acquisition of the site through a Compulsory Purchase Order; rehoming residents and demolition of 350 high and low rise flats and 160 houses.

Our team are managing the design and construction of 630 new homes including social housing; contract negotiation, construction and fit-out of a new supermarket and associated smaller retail units; and the reconfiguration of roads, footpaths, utilities and open space areas.

The governance and collaborative working structure developed by CPC alongside careful planning and implementation has enabled a sensitive, difficult and complex project to succeed and bring the community and stakeholders together to support this locally significant scheme.
