Tinbergen modernisations given go-ahead
1 February 2016
Planning permission has been granted for new Chemistry teaching laboratories at the University of Oxford’s Tinbergen Building.
The scheme will enable an expansion of the existing Sir Leslie Martin building to meet the Department’s growth projections beyond 2020. The redevelopment, designed by Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp, will be sympathetic to its ‘brutalist’ style and stepped structure.
CPC Project Services (CPC) is project managing the refurbishment works on behalf of the University, which will include a new entrance, student hub and improved teaching laboratories for the department of Chemistry, Experimental psychology and zoology. The project will be delivered over a number of phases with the first phase due for completion in Summer 2017.
CPC’s Managing Partner Steve Mole said, “Our relationship with the University of Oxford has developed well over the first two years of our framework appointment, we are delighted to continue to offer our best team to support the University’s ambitious plans. Our team will be led by Colin McAuley and Peter Turner, both are experienced project managers with a passion for detail and a thorough understanding of the clients requirements”.
