Shorncliffe Garrison redevelopments gets go-ahead

Shepway District Council has given outline and initial reserve matters planning permission for Taylor Wimpey to redevelop a 77-hectare former MOD army barracks at Shorncliffe Garrison, Cheriton.

The scheme will include up to 1200 new homes; 10.5 hectares of improved recreational space, a new sports pavilion; land for a new primary school, community facilities and the retention of heritage listed assets.

CPC Project Services is providing project management services to Taylor Wimpey for this scheme which will be delivered over four phases and is due for completion in 2029. Phase 1, which received reserve matters approval, will provide 294 dwellings including over 30% affordable housing.
