CPC speaks at the NCE Flood Management Conference9 December 2013
The award winning Banbury Flood Alleviation project was a key feature of the NCE’s Flood Management Conference on 4 December.
The conference focussed on the growing urgency to tackle the effects of climate change and respond to the more severe impacts we are now witnessing at a local level and around the world.
CPC and the Environment Agency shared their experiences and challenges, in project managing the flood alleviation scheme at Banbury, to over 100 delegates from Local Authorities, the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities (LLFAs), contractors, insurance companies and consultants.
Steve Lee, Head of Environment at CPC said “The conference was a great success and enabled lively discussion at a strategic, financial, local engagement and project delivery level. The key themes were on experiences of local, fluvial and coastal schemes, in terms of investment and project challenges, and the need for an even more integrated approach between agencies, to deliver better reductions in flood risk to local communities”.
